May/June 2026
Summer is almost gone! I hope you made the most of it sunsetters. And, if not you can head out to Santa Lucia for crystalline waters and breathtaking mountain views all year long! Hey, that sounds like a plan. :) This year I've been listening to a lot of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra. I didn't know that he credited his vocal phrasing to Billie Holiday! As for Ella, he said she was the greatest female vocalist of all time. There was respect and admiration mutually.
Mr. Sinatra definitely had an amazing ear for music and talent. I started the year with the intention of going through his enormous cannon of music. The idea is to shortlist my top picks at the end of the year. I definitely think I'll be able to do that. I also think some of his masterpieces are sliding into my pen. You may have noticed a tip of the hat to The Chairman on Moonlight Counting Stars. It's been an amazing year and I am already looking forward to 2027. Well all right, here are May/June's mailbag picks!
