Something special-it's about love

I always say that love is in the air. The reason I say that is because it is. It is always in the air waiting to be breathed in by someone who is willing and ready to receive it. Love is a total vibe, a mindset, and has very little to do w/ whether you are in a relationship, getting to know someone, married, going through a divorce, single. Nothing to do with any of those situations. It is all about who you are and how you feel, especially about yourself.
How you see the world around you.
It might be helpful to define love in the context of this paragraph. According to Merriam Webster, love can be defined as a warm attachment. That is indeed, the contextual definition I am extrapolating on today. I'll give you an example, when I look at a beautiful sunset on the water, and the wind is barely noticable. Everything looks so perfect. I am flooded with love for the beauty of the moment. Its heart-breaking to me how some can wait their entire life to experience a warm attachment towards something not understanding that love is not a person it's a vibe, and you decide what and who you are going to love.
I see love and beauty in so many things that some are bound to miss, if you are not paying attention. Like the way the leaves in the fall roll with the wind. How every sunset is always different in some way. It could be the hue, the position, the way the light is diffused by the unseen particles in the sky. Though Something Special (Radio Edit) is mostly inspired by my grandparent's epic lovestory of 70+ years, it is really about how they both viewed life. They viewed it through the lens of love. Not to be mistaken with rose colored glasses, which is a recipe for heartbreak and general foolishness, but rather looking at life through the lens of love helps you appreciate the small things.
I go back to the sunset reference because it is something we have no control over, its free, and easy to miss, if we are not paying attention. When you slow down enough to look at a sunset, and stay perfectly still just taking it all in it can activate the love lens in your perspective. Something Special takes you through the wind and leaves, the sunset and back into the arms of a loved one painting a visual landscape of love. It's all in how you choose to view the world. I think it was Albert Einstein who said
There are two ways to live your life: one is as though nothing is a miracle, and the other is as though everything is a miracle.
Love is a miracle. Einstein was talking about love. Something Special (Radio Edit) encourages us to catch the vibe, ride the wave of love in our every day lives. Is it a love song? Of course it is, but it also extends beyond relationships. I wrote Something Special with the idea that we can find something special even in the familiar spaces of our respective worlds. Whitney Houston sang that learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all. The song was on to something as I believe when you learn to love yourself, imperfections and all, it opens you up to love others, and the fleeting moments that make up our lives.
I hope my song brings hope, tenderness and a new awareness of life to you. My wish is that you look for ways to shift your focus by how you view things. I hope when you see the cracked pavement, you also notice the flowers that are growing through. Regardless of where you might be on your journey, believe that the best is yet to come. Because it is..
